Hi, I'm T. Cooper. I'm a New York City makeup artist, hairstylist, and co-founder of beauty and grooming company Metro Look. Today, we're gonna talk about severe hairstyles of the Amish. Yes people, severe hairstyles of the Amish. You asked for it now I'm going to give it to you. So one of my favorite severe Amish hairstyles is actually kind of fashionable, a lot of people been pulling it off on the red carpet lately, a milk made braid so I'm gonna show you how to do it. For that you're just gonna need some hairspray, a comb or brush just to detangle the hair and some good old fashioned pins. Oh and you know what clear elastics too if you have thick hair but if you, if you thinned your hair at the bottom or if you have layers you might just be able to get away with spraying it and teasing it. So I'm gonna turn my lovely model to the side and get started. We're gonna make her Amish. So we're gonna do a part right down the middle. So once you have the hair separated in half you're gonna take one side and then you're gonna pull it toward the front. I'm gonna start with this side over here so you'll see what I'm doing a little bit better but with that center part in the hair we're gonna pull it going forward because the braids are gonna go this way and if we start too far back the braid might not reach all the way up front. So I'm just gonna give a little spray, brush over it just a little tiny bit, make it nice and neat. The Amish don't do messy hair but if you want to be Amish with messy hair go for it. So now I'm just starting right above her ear and I'm braiding go forward cause that's the direction that we're gonna take that hair and you can just do a typical 3 strand braid. Just gonna section it off at the bottom. I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side. Give a little spray. Brush it going forward and we're gonna start the braid on top of her ear and then now what you do is you take one braid and you bring it over like so and then you grab a couple pins and you pin it down. I like pin into the braid, not necessarily just the end because sometimes if you do the end it can slip but if you pin into the braid it kind of keeps it down and after you pin into the braid then you can pin the end and we're gonna do the same thing the other way, and you grab a couple of pins. We're pinning into the braid and then we'll pin the end. This is what it looks like from the front, super cute, give it a final spray and you're done. We're all set now we're gonna go to Amish country and have some bread and you know it's gonna be awesome. I'm T. Cooper, thank you for watching.
