Hi, I am Sharon Welchel filming here in Tustin, California for my crochet studio for my Etc. shop Starlike, and today I'm going to explain for you guys what the abbreviation LP stands for. If you're using a crochet pattern you might notice that the abbreviation LP comes up sometimes, it actually, it just means LOOP and loops are just the tops of your crochet work. So as you can see here you can kind of see like the braided looking chain and each of these parts is a loop. So this right here, that's your front loop and sometimes that'll be abbreviated as FL, and then that's the one that's facing you. And then the one that's farthest away from you is the back loop so that might be abbreviated BL. And there are some different kinds of stitches that require you to crochet just using the front loop or through the back loop. And that's what LP stands for in crochet terminology.
