Hi, I'm T. Cooper. I'm a New York City makeup artist, hair stylist and co founder of beauty and grooming company Metro Look. Today, we're going to talk about how to style a faux hawk for men. A faux hawk is what it sounds like. It's a faux Mohawk. It's for someone who wants the appearance of a Mohawk without having to commit to having shaved sides and what not and looking like Mr. T. every day. It's cool, a lot of people want to do it. But some people just want the look and then wash it out and then you're all done. So how you achieve this look I like to do it with some good old fashioned styling gel. So what you'll do is you take some gel, warm it up in your hands, distribute it throughout the hair and then the faux hawking can begin. And what you do is you drag hair up from both sides and then you start to spike it upward. And if you need more product, no big deal. You just start to spike it up in the middle. And the hair on the sides that won't go you can just slick this back. Whatever is too short or just won't get up there. But what's up there you just keep going like this with your palms and if you need more product, you go in there with some more product. This is all about the product. Warm it on up. And just spike it. And you see why they call it a faux hawk. It's the appearance of a Mohawk without actually cutting your hair in to a Mohawk. Which is awesome. Starting to dry here.
