Hello, my name is Josiah Rea. I'm going to show you how to make a Cartesian graph using Microsoft Word. This is very similar to making a graph system using Excel. In fact it uses Excel to edit the data points. So here we are inside of Microsoft Word and it's pretty simple to insert a graph. We're just going to go to insert and select chart and we want to scroll down to the XY scatter here and we're just going to choose the first one and select okay and you'll notice that it opens up Excel right next to Word. It's thrown in a few starter points for you to kind of get working with and the values are shown labeled X and Y values so it kind of does a lot of the work for you. To get a line in here, we're going to select a data point so I'm just going to fill them in with sort of a few starters so one, two and then drag that little square down to fill it up to 5 and then drag it over to duplicate the set and you'll notice as soon as I do that these points automatically line themselves up right in a line. You're going to right click on one of the points and say add trim line, leave the default to linear and select close and there we are. We have a line on a graph system right inside of Microsoft Word.
