Hello, my name is Josiah Rea. I'm going to show you how to tell if Aero is enabled in Windows 7 and how to troubleshoot it if it's not working quite correctly for you. So here we are inside of Windows 7 and one of the first things you notice is that the task bar is transparent. So if I open up one of these say open up my browser real quick, you'll notice that as it goes below the task bar you can see through the task bar and also the top of the window is transparent so you can see the background through the top of the window here. Occasionally programs like older games will disable some of the nicer features from Aero and they won't re-enable automatically when you close the game. The first thing that you should do is try restarting your computer. It's the thing that's worked best for me. If that doesn't work here's where you find a couple of the settings that may have gone wrong, right click any place on your Desktop and come down to screen resolution and we're going to click on advanced settings here. Underneath this tab go over to the monitor and the refresh right here, the screen refresh, the first thing that you want to check make sure that it's at 60 hertz or whatever the default refresh rate of your monitor is and the most important one here underneath the color. It has to be 32 bit color for transparency to work in our area. So after you check those and reboot your computer you should be all set to go again.
