How Often Should I Change My Face Night Cream Routine?

Hi, I'm Lisa Nielson, Beauty Maven, and celebrity makeup artist. Today, I'm talking about how often you should change your nighttime moisturizer routine. So this is sort of a trick question because the truth is you should change your nighttime moisturizer when you feel like you're ready to do so. It's really that simple. You need to be seeing results, one, and two, you need to feel like it's a good fit for you. If you've done your research and found out a little bit about the cream that you are using and you feel confident that it's going to work for you, the general rule of thumb is to give about three or four weeks before you see results. So if you invested and sometimes these night creams can be pretty expensive, I'm not saying that you have to buy ones that are super pricey, you can do your homework and find one that works for you as far as price point and performance but once you invest in that you want to give it at least three to four weeks to work for you. So that's my advice is to just watch for those results and give it the time needed but really feel free to try something different. If something is not working for you, you shouldn't just keep staying with the same thing. So what we're going to do on our model is just go ahead and apply some beauty cream right now, some nighttime cream and this one is rich and emollient. Obviously a night cream needs to be more hydrating than your daytime moisturizer and a lot of times what really differentiates them is in their performance, in their objective. Also they are more concentrated. Sometimes they'll have peptides, higher levels of antioxidants, so you want to pick something that's targeted for your specific concern with your skin be it firmness and texture or some wrinkling that you are trying to minimize. I would say use about a dime size amount and if it's emollient enough that should give you the results that you are looking for. She has beautiful skin but say she wanted to just target certain areas of the face and I'm using a foundation brush just to, you could absolutely just put this on with your fingertips and of course you would if it was just yours.
