Hi, I’m Lisa Nielson, beauty maven and celebrity makeup artist. And today, I’m talking about how to make your own homemade recipe of Shea lip balm. So, your lips are very important – they need to be hydrated and taken care of. Your lips are exposed to the elements just like the rest of your skin. They can become chapped and split and dry, it can be painful, and it really doesn’t look great, nor does it give you a really healthy look to your lip color should you choose to wear lipstick. So, today I want to give you a little bit of a recipe that you can actually make right at home. And, if you’re like me, you want to save money and you also realize that there’s things around your house that you can use that work just as well as store-bought product. So, what we’ve done is sort of in parts, and I’ll walk you through that, is one part beeswax to three parts Shea butter, to four parts sweet almond oil. And, what you’re going to do is just go ahead and mix those all together – we’re doing it on a little sterile palette here just because we like things to be nice and clean. But, if you’re at home, you could just mix this in your hand certainly. Once you get that to the consistency that you like, can go ahead and just apply it liberally all over your mouth. And, I would say if you did this morning and night, you could see some nice results in terms of nice moist lips that look pretty and soft, and not chappy and split. You’ll notice too that if your lips are hydrated and healthy, that’s going to affect the longevity of your lipstick in how well it lays, how well it looks and wears. So, I’m Lisa Nielson, and that’s how I would make a homemade Shea lip balm.
