Hi, my name is Michael Oxman, Custom Clothing and Mens Image Consultant with Henry A. Davidsen, here in Center City, Philadelphia and today we are going to be discussing men's dress shirt trends. One thing to keep in mind is that as the spring and summer approach, men's dress shirts go through a more colorful transformation. You're going to see a lot more bright color, a lot lighter color and much bolder patterns for the spring than you typically do in the fall and winter. During the fall and winter most professional men tend to wear white shirts, blue shirts and that's pretty much your standard. As we get into April, May, June, etc. you're going to see again more color, more pattern. And generally colors and fabrics that are going to reflect the sunshine that we're seeing much more of nowadays. So for starters what we're seeing a lot of right now are checks. Checks are a very, very big pattern and have been for the past couple of years. Here in this blue and brown tattersall version this is something that's going to work really, really great as a casual shirt but can also be dressed up very nicely as well. As you can see against the navy jacket that I have here on my mannequin, it looks really, really great. This is something that you can wear with a solid navy tie with brown stripes for example or a chocolate brown knit tie to lend a bit more springiness to the whole ensemble. That's going to look really great. Additionally this with a khaki suit, a pair of dark denim, for something a bit more casual, it's going to look absolutely fantastic. Moving on to our next swatch here you'll see pink and teal checks. This is a wonderful spring and summer fabrication. This is something that's going to go very, very nicely, again with a khaki suit, a pair of jeans. With a navy suit, with a charcoal gray suit. You can dress this up with a darker teal, perhaps a navy blue tie as well. You can dress it down and leave it open and unbuttoned with your khaki suit as well and that will work very, very nicely for you there, too. Finally gingham. You cannot go wrong with a gingham. Especially in a purple. Purple we feel is an under utilized color by most men. It looks really, really great on a number of different skin tones, a number of different hair colors, eye colors. And it pairs beautifully with most clothes that most guys have in their wardrobes. That is to say, again, your navy suit, your gray suits of any hue. Ranging from incredibly light gray to your very, very deep charcoals. Again this is something that's going to look very, very good with a khaki suit. Either buttoned up with a tie, again in a dark navy, deep green will also look very, very good with purple, also very, very dark purple. Something darker than this will look really, really good, too. And also you can wear it unbuttoned. Very, very casually. Untucked even with a pair of jeans and you'll look very on trend, very, very stylish and you will really, really enjoy it.
