Knowing what color dress best suits you will bring out the very best for your appearance, and isn't that what every woman wants? Hi, I'm Robin Wallace of Thrifty Vintage Chic here with some style pointers on color matching. So the first thing we need to determine is whether your skin is warm toned or cool toned. So let's take a look at your wrist. If your veins appear more blue like mine, you're going to be a cool toned person and if your veins appear more greenish, then that means that your skin tone is warm. To color match your skin tone to your dress, remember this rule, warm tones are based on yellows and cool skin tones are based on blues. So any dress matching your skin tone, will be a style win for you. Examples of warm colors are yellows, oranges, browns, yellowish greens and orangish reds. Examples of cool colors are blues, greens, pinks, purples, magentas, blue greens and bluish reds. Keep in mind if you have a rutty complexion, you will want to avoid warm metallics such as bronzes and golds. However, cool metallics like silver will be your best friend because it will calm your red undertones. And if you have a dark complexion you may really want to avoid white because it's going to create a very harsh contrast against your skin and with black although it's very slimming, with white, it highlights contours so you're going to want to be careful about wearing white and making sure you are wearing the correct silhouette for your body type. And always, make sure you accessorize. These are some great examples of statement pieces that I've gotten here at Yaf Sparkle on the lower East side of Manhattan. So make sure you stop by.
