Hi, I'm Nelson Vercher here today at the Rita Hazan Salon. I'm with my beautiful model, Virginia, and I'm going to demonstrate to you tousled hair with bangs. The first thing you want to do when you are going to do tousled hair if it has a bang, you want to brush the hair straight back and find the natural parting. Push up on it at the crown and where the part falls is where it should be. You want to make sure you brush the bangs down so they kind of settle, then brush through the rest of the hair. The reason you brush the hair, the bangs down is if it has any cowlicks or anything they'll settle before you, before it dries. Then I'm going to use the Rene Futerer's leave-in conditioning volumizing spray. It's a volumizer but I'm concentrating, I'm putting it all over the hair just so it gives a nice texture with some hold but it's still conditioning and not too drying. You spray that on and after you apply your product you want to make sure you comb through it so all the hair has product on it. You just want to make sure it's evenly distributed, comb through, even with the bangs. Now I'm going to start drying and mostly I want to dry it, you know just hitting it at the roots so you are getting some volume. With Virginia's hair it's medium texture, well it's medium to fine but it has a lot of it. So you don't really need to use a brush on it too much. You want to just really use your fingers to get that texture. Another nice thing to do is really kind of accentuate this crown area and just use your fingers as a brush, go in and lift it so you kind of get that nice kind of 60s volume at the crown. Now with the bangs is the only thing that I would probably use a brush on. All one side, all the other side. And then also you want to give the bangs one good blow underneath as well just so that everything kind of marries together. So now she is all dry. I didn't use the brush on her at all because I wanted to keep that tousled texture but what I'm going to do to actually accentuate the tousled texture, I'm going to take a little hairspray and just spray it all kind of over at once, brush through the hair because you don't want it knotted. Tousled and knotted is two different things. So you want to make sure you, it still has a, and then I'm going to take a very large iron. This iron would normally be too large for her length of hair and I'm just going to randomly grab pieces which kind of smooths it out but also gives it that texture and I definitely like to move everything going to the center. So everything is being wounded back, not forward. I'm just curling everything to the center randomly, no real specific direction, the only thing that's happening is you are making sure everything moves to the center. And after that's done, and then I'm going to take a little bit of the modeling paste which gives dry texture by Rene Futerer, rub my hands together to heat it up and then once take it through everything, pull the hair all back, pull it up, swirl it around and then just finger through it to make it your own. And there you are, tousled hair with bangs. I'm Nelson here at the Rita Hazan Salon. I hope you enjoy. Thank you.
