Hi, I’m Nelson Vercher, and I’m here today at the Rita Hazan Salon with my gorgeous model, Tiffany. Today, I’m going to demonstrate hairstyles that’s great for brunettes. And, what I’m going to do is I’m going to do a classic Marcel curl. This is different from the winding-it-around-the-iron kind of beach wave that we’ve been seeing the last five years. This is actually going back to the classics. So, most of her hair is all pre-done, and I’m going to show you how I created the texture. Freshly blow dried hair, round brush blow dry, and then hairspray. Spray from root to end. Use your fingers to go through. Separate the section in two, and what you’re going to do is hit it at the base and wound all the ends in, and also over-direct. So, I’m over-directing my sections, I’m starting my curl at the base, and I’m just wounding in. A classic Marcel curl. And, you just keep winding in until all the ends are in. And then, what you do to set it is a one-finger pin curl, just so it’s nice and tight at the root. Clip it in, and now your last one. Spray, one-inch iron, over-direct all the way to the base. Classic Marcel iron. One-finger pin curl to the base. Now that you started in the back, what you want to do is start just taking your pins out. And, as you move to the top, the top will have cooled off and really locked themselves in. This is awesome – this looks great. Now that it’s all loose, you just want to finger through it really gently in, almost…what you want to do – now, take a Mason Pearson brush, and you just kind of want to go through very lightly stemming. I’m going to have Tiffany actually hold her head upside down, flip over, and you want to brush underneath. Come back. So, you want to utilize all that nice texture she has there. Actually, I’m going to part her off, like that. And, what I want to do now is a very slight teasing, and we’re just doing this by separating the front from the back, out. You clip this up. Just tease that all there, so you get that nice bigness there. And then, you just pull this back tight. And then, we’re just locking it in with a few pins. And then, you just kind of loop it up in the back here, and you kind of just hide your pins. And then, finish off with spray. And, here you are: A great hairstyle for brunettes.
