Hi, I'm Kylie Deppen with Joyful Health & Wellness based out of New York City. And today, we're going to make a healthy walnut snack. Walnuts are a great source of omega-threes, which are good for your heart and for your brain. And the best way to enjoy nuts in general, is raw. Once you cook them you know, you're not getting all the minerals and vitamins that are in them. So, I like to eat my nuts raw as much as possible. Alright, and we're just going to use two cups of raw walnuts, and I've got a little food processor here. And we're going to include in there, about half a cup of dates. These, it's about, maybe four or five large dates. And you know, I'm going to add my liquid first. So, let's do, this is a fourth of a cup of almond butter, o.k., and it gets a little sticky here. If you have a larger food processor, that's better, but I live in New York. So, we don't have room for large food processors and things, we're lucky to have a toaster. Alright, so we got the almond butter, put that there. You want one teaspoon of vanilla, about a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, you can go a little heavy, if you like cinnamon like I do. I like to do a pinch or so of sea salt, this will add a little more, it'll bring out the sweetness of the dates. And I'm not using any traditional sugar in this dish, because actually I don't have any sugar in my house. But I'm going to add a little water, just to get it going and you'll want to do this maybe, a teaspoon at a time, before we add in a half a cup of the oats. So, let's go ahead and get that blended. And you can see, you may have to stir it up a bit, to get it to blend together nicely. We'll add a little bit more water and then, just sprinkle in your oats. These are gluten-free oats, by the way, I'm gluten free and I know a lot of you are gluten free. And you're going to just keep blending, by the way, if you're able to use a larger blender, it's better, you won't have to mix up as much. Otherwise, if you have a smaller blender like I do, food processor, I would, maybe half the batch, makes it a little bit easier. So, we're almost done here, a little more blending, and that should do it. O.k., and now, we're going to make no bake cookies. Really all you need, and I've lost my spoon, oh, here it is, o.k. You can make them into cookies or it's even easier to do little balls. It's a little messy, you may want to use gloves. We'll make a cookie, you can also do balls, this is a great snack for on the go, especially, if you are, if you work out of the home or right before you workout, or for kids. So, you have your little cookie there. And you want to let it set up in the fridge, so that you know, it's nice and firm once you get done. But there you have a quick and easy snack with walnuts. And I'm Kylie Deppen with Joyful Health & Wellness, thanks for watching.
