Hi. I'm here today to show you how to make some different kinds of craft necklaces. The things that I'm going to show you are more for three to five-year-olds, and they're simple things that you could do at your home with stuff that you already have available. So first of all you will need some kind of different kinds of macaroni noodles or Ziddi or different kinds of shapes of noodles, there's all kinds out there. I just chose these because they're easily braidable. But most noodles have a hole through them somewhere anyway. So, you can start out with noodles and basically what you're going to do, you're going to have acrylic paint too. And just be careful with this when you use acrylic with kids, because it can get o your clothes. You could also use tempera paint. So it's up to you, whatever you want to use. Tempera paint is easier to get out of kid's clothing. So I am using acrylic because it sticks better. So you want to put the kid's a little acrylic paint out, have a water dish, have a paint brush and then take a piece of tin foil and put the noodles out for them to paint. And they're actually going to take the little noodles, they can either lay them down and paint them on the foil and hole them. Sometimes they're slippery so they slide around. Or they can hold them up in their hand like this and paint them. You just have to let one part dry. They're going to get their fingers a little dirty with this, so. So basically you paint the noodles and then if you had different kinds you could use that too. And you let them dry. And then you take a piece of braiding cord or string or anything really that you have around the house. And you cut yourself a piece the length of that the child would wear it. You have to measure that out first. Then I don't really tie a knot in the end, I just lay the string down. If you wanted to you could tape it just so when the child's trying to string it, it doesn't slide off down here. So then after you get your amount of string you just your different noodles and you just thread them. They could do that actually fun, it's fun. And then another thing, another kind of necklace you can make, and I'm going to incorporate the two together, are using clay, air dry clay. So first of all what you would do is give the child some air dry clay and let them make any kind of shape they want really. But sometimes it's fun just to get a little bit and show them how to roll round and round and round like this until it turns into a sphere. And you can talk to them about that. And then before you actually let it dry, you take a skewer and you have to make sure you put a hole through it, all the way through. You want to do this part because it's got a sharp tip there. Don't want anybody to get poked. All right. So you do these and let them make as many as they want and then you let them air dry over night and then of course they come back and they can paint them any colors that they want just like you did with the Ziddi. And then you could add them to your necklace. You could either use these to make one kind of necklace or you could alternate the different kinds of things that you have here. It should be easy and fun to string them. And then you do that until you have the whole thing full or whatever they want. And then of course you tie it around their little necks like that and you have a necklace.
