Hi I'm Julia. I'm a hairstylist in Los Angeles, and I'm going to show you today how to do a great party hairstyle. One of the things I like when I'm going out to a party when I really have to get my hair done is I want something that's easy that I don't have to worry about throughout the night. So this is something that's going to be very easy. It's a nice high bun. So as you can see, I prepped Heidi's hair. I gave it a little bit of a curl. You don't necessarily have to do this. It makes it a little bit easier when it comes to tucking the ends in. I like a little bit of curl or wave versus completely straight but it doesn't have to be flawless curl. So I have got a brush and I've got a little bit of light hold hairspray that I'm going to spray on my brush just to make sure that there's not a lot of flyaways. And then I want to take an elastic that is the same color as my model's hair. So get in there with the elastic. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to tease this pony. So I'm going to take a little bit of section. I'm going to spray on a little bit of this dust product which helps to tease and I'm going to tease. Instead of stopping right there at the root, I'm going to tease up a little bit more, just real loosely. So I'm going to give the entire piece of the ponytail a little bit of texture. So go ahead, so you've given this ponytail a little bit of texture. Then what I do is I don't smooth it like I would normally smooth any teasing but I'm going to grab this and I'm basically going to start wrapping and turning it up onto itself. So as you can sort of see where I'm going with this. So when you are starting to get where you want it to be, you're going to start putting some pins in. I like to get about four or five pins in to make sure that I've got the actual base of the bun held. So see now I can let go and I can sort of play around with it. I like to do that with a comb like this so you can sort of go through, pull out a little bit like this and I think that's the style that you're sort of wanting to achieve at this point. But there you go, you have a great sort of party hairstyle that's going to last all night. She can be dancing and shaking her head around and that's not going to go anywhere. So there we go, a great party hairstyle.
