Good morning! I'm Celebrity Chef, Mariko and your eHow Food Expert. Today, I'm going to show you how to make vegetarian pancakes. This is a delicious easy and healthy recipe for anyone on a vegetarian diet or just trying to watch the amount of calories, fat and cholesterol in their diets. To get started, you'll want to get a pancake griddle and start heating it to medium high heat. Then, you'll want to get a medium sized mixing bowl and add one cup of flour. You can use regular flour, whole wheat flour, even a gluten-free flour mix. Then, I'm going to add one cup of milk. I'm going to add a pinch of salt, this is probably going to be about an eighth of a teaspoon. And I'm going to add a couple of tablespoons of oil. Then, I'm going to add a tablespoon of sugar, this is going to help make it a little bit sweeter and if you normally use some no-calorie sweetener or agave, you can use a little bit of that as well. Then, I'm going to add two tablespoons of baking soda. This is what's going to help the, the pancakes rise. Now, I'm just going to mix everything together until it's well-blended. This is such a great basic vegetarian pancake recipe that you can start to customize it with all your favorite ingredients. If you like blueberry pancakes, you can add some blueberries or some mashed bananas, even some peanut butter is good in your pancakes. Just start to experiment with your favorite ingredients. Now, that this is mixed together, I'm going to put it on my griddle. Each pancake is going to be about a tablespoon of batter. You're going to want to cook them for about two to three minutes on each side. You know your pancakes are ready to flip when they start to bubble in the middle and the edges start to puff up.
