Hi everyone, I’m hairstylist Amanda Shackleton from NYBridalBeauty.com, and today I’m here to show you how to do a half-up, half-down hairstyle if you’re a bride with a side-swept bang. Now, it’s really up to you what you want to do with the texture of your hair, whether you want to make it straighter or curlier. I prefer a little bit of curl in the hair. I think it makes it look just a little softer when you sweep it off your face. So, what I’ve gone and done is put a little bit of height at the crown of the head and then pulled some of the hair back on both sides. And now, this is the really important part, because you want your bangs to fall a certain way when you are pushing them over to the side. So, you want to take a larger barrel iron, and just give the ends a little bit of a curl on the end. And, you want to do that with the curl coming this way, not flipping it back away from the face – that’ll cause a different look to the front of the hair. And, once you’ve done that, you want to take a little bit of a silicone product, a little bit of pomade or something like that, just a little bit in your fingers, and then just run it through the hair. Again, make sure not to use too much of this – it can tend to get greasy, and you don’t want the hair to look wet. And then, once I put the pomade through, I come and just take this little front section of bangs, swoop it over just like that, tuck it behind the ear, and then you can secure it with the pin, or you can secure it with an ornament or something if you want to put it in the hair. So, there you go. We’ve created a lovely half-up, half-down hairstyle with a side-swept bang.
