Hi, everyone. I'm hair stylist Amanda Shackleton from NYBridalBeauty.com, and today I'm here to show you up dos that are inspired with a Marcel wave. Marcel waves were waves that were done in the '20s and the '30s and the '40s and they were done with a curling iron that looked like this. It's a little bit different than your springing curling iron and you have to know how to maneuver a Marcel waver in order to get the right effect. So you want to take your two fingers on the handle and then let's go ahead and create a beautiful Marcel wave just by wrapping it around the barrel. Always start at the root. If you don't start at the root, you're not going to get the S curl that you need to create the Marcel wave. You want to hold it there for a good amount of time. Really get a nice amount of curl and then start pulling it through as you go. And each time you do a piece, just let it hang there for a little bit. Let's do a next piece. Remember, starting at the base, really getting the base set really, really well and then just moving on. Once we've gotten those two pieces, you can just take your fingers with a little bit of hair spray and just kind of maneuver the hair just like that and with a comb we'll take the end of a rat tail comb and I'll just come in and go ahead and very lightly pin that up. And once you've done that, then you've got your hair style. It's a beautiful modern updated Marcel wave if you're wearing your hair up. I'm Amanda Shackleton and I'm a hair stylist.
