Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, Professional Makeup Artist, and today I'm here to answer your question, "How do I shrink my pores before I put on foundation?" So, you really only need a, a few key things and that's going to be cold water and a washcloth. Now, it's best to open your pores up before you close them, just to make sure that everything's cleaned out. And so, you first do that with hot water. Let it them sit in it and then you go in with your cold water and your washcloth. If you're at home, a sink is ideal; if not, a cup of water is just fine. And so, we're just going to take it, don't need a ton, and the cold water closes the pores and locks in the moisture and that's going to make them minimized and less apparent. And that's an important factor before we put on our foundation or any other face makeup because sometimes our pores are big and show through our makeup. And that's something that we like to try to avoid or eliminate when possible. Slight exfoliation is always nice too, just to make sure that we're getting any grime out that we want. And then after we do that, we just let it sit a minute and then we can go in with our foundation and apply it normally. We can see that the pores are not apparent and we're getting a nice clean even coverage. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just answered your question, "How to close up my pores before putting on foundation?"
