Hello, my name is Nicholas Staddon and I'm with Monrovia. Today, we're gonna talk about how to hedge with boxwoods. You've got to love the color green if you like plants cause that's what it's all about with buxus. Situation gardening is really important, if you want to hide an air conditioner there are types of boxwoods, if you want to hide a fence there are other types. So lets talk about the air condtioner to start with. This variety I have with me here right here is called winter gem, kind of a broad variety. When you plant it you'll plant it maybe 2 to 3 feet apart from each other and they'll grow together. This variety which is a fantastic one is called green tower, look how comical and upright that plant is. If you want to hide a fence this is the one for you. If you want a shorter more dwarf compact plant, it's variegated, this variety is called golden triumph and golden triumph you can keep at about 18 or 20 inches, works beautifully for a herb garden. This is Nicholas Staddon with how to plant a boxwood hedge.
