Hi, I'm Eric Quinn. I'm a Personal Trainer and we are here in Club Metro, Jersey City, New Jersey. Today, we're going to answer the question, "Does your metabolism still burn calories after exercise?" So, if you want to know if your metabolism continues to run, you continue to burn calories once you finished working out, the simple answer to that is yes, it continues to burn, you continue to, to use your metabolism as you finish working out. Now, was the issue here is that are certain exercises that help you burn calories faster or help your metabolism run, run faster than other exercises. For instance, cardiovascular exercises, after you finish your cardiovascular exercise, it takes like whatever any way between half hour and one hour for your metabolism to, to slow down again; whereas, if you do weight training, it takes a little longer. It can even take 24 hours, so, or so depending on the kind of weight training you're using. Now, there are a lot of things to keep in mind. Some of the things you need to keep in mind about the metabolism and burning calories is your age, your sex has to do with it, your genes have to do it, the amount of fat you have in your body have to do with it, the amount of muscles you have in your body have to do with it. The more muscles you have, the faster your metabolism is going to run. So, again, the, the easy, the simple answer to the question is, yes, it does.
