Hi. My name is Porsha Kimble, the cake diva, and today I'm here to show you how to make a blue water cake using piping gel. I have a cake here that has some messy butter cream. And the reason I did that was because I want to get a textured look for water. You can also do this with waves or even grass. So I'm simply going to take some butter cream, apply it to my cake, and I'm simply just going to go in every which motion. The good thing about this type of cake is it doesn't have to be clean. The messier the better. Once I've applied the butter cream and made this messy look, I'm now going to use piping gel and I'm also going to use blue icing color. You can get it in any tint that you prefer, light or dark. My next step to decorating this cake to make it look like a pool of water is to stick my toothpick inside of the food coloring. Once I've done that I'm going to stick this in my cup of piping gel. Please know if you want darker waves, just add more color. If you don't, don't add that much. Now we are creating the blue water. Now it's time to apply the blue piping gel. You don't want to put too much on your spatula because you don't want to over do it and get globs of the piping gel in one area. So I'm simply going to take the spatula, I have some piping gel on the back, and now I'm just going to smooth it over all my textured butter cream. The good thing about piping gel is that it's thing and it goes a long way. Again, my name is Porsha Kimble, the cake diva, and today we showed you how to apply piping gel to create a blue water cake.
