Hey, my name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister, and today I'm going to demonstrate two variations of single leg squat for speed skating. Now, speed skaters require a lot of lower body speed and power. So, we're going to demonstrate a single leg squat that will help develop some of that speed and power. So, the first thing we want to do is we want to start off on one leg, single leg of course. We want to push the hips back as far as we can get them and touch the toe. Of course the balance is in, we're working the core to stay up light, push the hips back and touch the toe. The next one we're going to push the leg behind us, arms out front, squat and come up. Same idea, working the leg, working the core, squat and come up. That way, we work the front and the back. My name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister and that is a demonstration of a single leg squat for speed skaters.
