Hi, I'm Dave Dreeas here at Peak Performance in Phoenix, Arizona and I'm here to talk about the difference between a chest press and a chest fly. When performing a chest press, you have to extend your arms directly in front of you. When performing a chest fly, you are going to extend your arms to your sides, bringing them together in front of you almost like you are hugging a tree. A chest press can be performed on a flat bench using a barbell or a set of dumbbells. When performing a chest fly, grab a set of dumbbells that you are comfortable with. You will lay flat on the bench. You're going to extend your arms out to your side and you're going to bring your arms together at top peak squeezing the inner parts of your chest, almost as if you are hugging a tree. Understanding the differences between a chest press and a chest fly will help you sculpt and develop a thicker chest.
