Welcome back to the Cave Camp. I'm Coach PJ at CPJ Fitness in San Diego, California. Today, we're going to squats with shoulder raises. Okay. Now, we're going to show you an integ, integrated movement where you squat and do shoulder raises. We'll be using dumbbells today. So, you're going to grab your dumbbells. Open your stance outside the hips, feet facing forward, you want to make sure when you go into that, engage in that squat that you push your rear out and that your heels are down. You don't want those heels to raise up. And then, as we do that, we're going to integrate a lateral raise first, so here's the first movement. And so, as I squat, I lateral raise my arms, working the outside of the delts, the sides of the shoulders. The second transitional movement is, we'll do a shoulder flexion or pulling the arms straight up in front, just like this, integrating with the squat. And both movements, you only need to bring your arms up to shoulder height and you want to breath. This is a great integrated movement, you're working the lower body and the upper body and also your core muscles because you're working with weight that's further away from the body and you breath. This is a great integrated movement. Enjoy! Once again, I'm Coach PJ at CPJ Fitness and I just showed you some squats with shoulder raises.
