Hi. I'm Teca Thompson, farm to table chef, and today we're talking about how to clean knife blades with lime juice. So I have a knife blade here and as you can see it's got little dots of rust on it. Not completely rusty but still this is a really good example of good cleaning with lime juice. So I'm going to take the knife and I'm going to sprinkle a salt layer over it like this. And you want to make sure to always when you're working with knives, work on a solid surface that is clean and stable and away from pets and animals. And then I'm going to just take my lime and I'm going to squeeze the juice over the salt on to the knife like so. Now you want to make sure do too much juice so it doesn't come off. Voila. So we will just let this sit. Depending on how dirty or rusty your knife is, up to three hours. And then once it's set and the lime juice and salt has done its magic and work away at that rust and dirt, you can just take a scrubby and scrub it off. And you take a rag. A clean rag, and you wipe it. And make sure it's very dry. Get another rag. And there you have your clean knife blade. I'm chef Teca Thompson. That is how to clean knife blades with lime juice.
