Hi, I’m Farm-to-Table Chef Teca Thompson, and today we’re talking about the top things to keep in your pantry. I think this is a very subjective question, but what you want to do, basically, is always have your favorite things ready to go, whether that be spices or can goods. Your basic cooking things are always good as far as flours, sugars, salt, pepper, baking powder, baking soda – they’re really the go-tos of any recipe. So, that’s what I like to do. I like to have my baked goods or my can goods in a sealed, dry place in my pantry, and I clearly mark them unless I can clearly identify them visually. And so, I have here, I have sugar, I have kosher salt, I have all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda. I’m a sucker for honey, so I’ve got honey here too. I love to keep all my olive oils in there. Dry pasta is always great to have – you know, anything you can really instantly spice up a recipe with or cook if you don’t have anything in your refrigerator. Also good are dried spices, dried herbs, peanut butter, oats – just my go-to things so I can have them. And, these are things that can last for months or years in your pantry as long as they’re properly sealed, marked, and taken care of. So, I’m Teca Thompson.
