Hi. I'm farm-to-table chef, Teca Thompson, and today we're talking about how should a dinner plate be portioned. I think this is a very important thing to learn for your friends and family because it's very important to have the proper nutrition to carry yourself throughout the day and also to stay health conscience and weight conscience. So this is the recommend healthy way to portion your meal. And that would be that we're going to go half fruit and vegetables that I have on the left side of the plate. A tiny dollop of fat right in the middle, and I've chosen butter which I know there's competition about butter but butter in moderation can be healthy, it's considered a healthy fat in moderation. Then you have a quarter starch, which is a half of a potato that I've chosen and a quarter protein, which in this case is a chicken leg. So whether you be a vegetarian or whatever your kind of culinary life you're eating, this is the basic way you want to set yourself up for healthy eating when it comes to your main meals. I'm chef Teca Thompson, and today we're talking about how you should portion your plate. Thank you for watching.
