Hi, I'm Hans Langeveld and with longfield-gardens.com, and I'm going to show you here how to plant tulips with ground cover. The reason why you would want to plant tulips or other bulbs underneath ground cover is that there's a couple reasons. First you will get continuous color after the tulips in the Spring have actually bloomed and died down. You still have the color of it in this case the Lamb's Ear. The second reason you would want to plant bulbs like tulips underneath ground cover is it will keep the soil temperature down in the Summer and it will actually help the bulbs to naturalize better so they come back easier the year after and it's actually very simple the way you do it. See this is Lamb's Ear and this will actually over the Winter is it will freeze and it will turn brown and disappear so what you do you just dig holes in between it and then you'll want to make sure that you plant it with the nose up and you want to plant it about three times the height of the bulb. So this bulb is probably about two inches so you want to plant it about six inches deep. Another function of the ground cover is that it will actually insulate the bulb from the cold. My name is Hans Langeveld and I'm with longfield-gardens.com. Please visit our website for more tips and videos to grow you nice beautiful strong gardens.
