Hi. I'm Barbara Kirshner. A lot of people know me as Miss Barb. I'm an expert food coach who teaches kids and parents healthy eating. I develop recipes, teach cooking classes, develop product and do healthy eating birthday parties. But most of all I like having fun, fun, fun with food. So today, we are making a quick and easy apple pie yogurt parfait. So, this recipe takes one whole apple. I started cutting it before you got here. I peeled the apple, then I cored it and now I'm cutting it in to small, little dices. One apple cut in small pieces. Put it in the bowl. Then you add one tablespoon of either brown sugar or maple syrup. Add some cinnamon, This again is to taste. You can add a little vanilla. Then I mix it up. Then I'm going to put it in the microwave oven for one to two minutes until the apples are soft. This is all dependent on how firm your apples are. Just came out of the microwave oven. It's nice and hot. The apples are soft. I'm going to taste one. Mmm! Just like apple pie. Okay now I'm going to add some of this apple pie mixture. About half of it in to a clear cup, parfait glass or any favorite glass you may have. Then I'm going to add two tablespoons of my favorite granola. This is cranberry pumpkin seed. I also like cinnamon toast. Delicious. Now you can add either frozen yogurt or regular vanilla yogurt or yogurt of your choice. I like adding frozen yogurt today. And sometimes I put a few more apples on the top. An apple pie parfait. Don't forget you can use frozen yogurt or you can use regular vanilla yogurt. It's absolutely delicious.
