Leroy with Relentless Performance. Today, chin-ups versus bicep curls, how long will you last? The difference between a bicep curl and a chin-up, pretty great. Bicep curls is an isolated exercise that works primarily just the bicep. When you are doing the chin-up, you are working biceps, shoulders, forearms, lats, abs. You are basically working the whole body. It's a full body exercise to pull your body above a bar. So if you are looking for that full body engagement, you are going to do the chin-up. If you are looking for an isolated exercise for your biceps, stick to the bicep curl, but pound for pound, the benefit is going to be much greater out of the chin-up.
