This is Leroy with Relentless Performance. Today, we're going to address cardio for toning muscle. In other words, HIT training. When people ask about doing cardio to tone muscle, they usually mean a rapid loss of fat so their muscle signature shows through. My favorite form of doing this is called HIT training, high intensity interval training. one way to do this is on a treadmill. The way you're going to start is you're going to get on a treadmill and you're going to run at a high rate of speed for as long as you can to the point where breathing becomes extremely heavy but not so long that you fall off the treadmill. At that point you want to mark that so whether it be a minute, a minute and a half, whatever speed. Then you're going to mark, take half of that number and that's going to be your rest period. So what you're going to do is you're going to do 20 high intensity levels, 20 low intensity levels. So what you're going to do is you're going to get on the treadmill, turn it up to that speed, run for that allotted amount of time, say it's a minute. So we're going to spring all out for a minute. At that minute mark we're going to turn the speed down to about three and a half which is a good walking pace. We're going to walk at that pace for 30 seconds, that 30 second interval comes to an end, we're going to sprint at our high speed whatever your speed was, you're going to sprint at that for another minute and you're going to alternate that until you get 20 high level sprints done. You do this two or three times a week, I guarantee you you're going to see a rapid difference in your body and its appearance. This is Leroy with Relentless Performance. Today, we did HIT training so get out there, get it, tone it, we're out.
