Hey there. Oscar Carmona, from Healing Grounds Certified Biodynamic Nursery, located in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, here today to talk to you about how to get strawberries on the inside of the patch to ripen. The fundamental thing you need to consider is spacing to allow the plants in the middle of the bed, in this case we have three rows and there's a certainly a middle row. And it's a matter of provided the plants enough space so when they mature, particularly the strawberries start to mature, they're not being covered up by the other plants. That gives them enough space to get direct sun, and in this case enough space to also benefit from the radiant heat provided by this plastic mulch. And basically under these conditions you're going to get ripening throughout the whole bed, whether it be on the inside or the outside. So again the fundamental thing that you need to keep in to consideration is the spacing of the plants, so the the plants in the interior of the bed are going to get sufficient sunlight and warmth from the surrounding mulch. I sure hope you found that information useful. It is an inspiration to me to be able to share this with you and to know that your lives are being made better by it. So remember always feed the soil and let the plants feed you.
