Hi, I'm Michelle Simone and I'm a hair stylist, and today I'm going to show you how to curl your hair in less than an hour. So depending on the type of hair that you have, curling your hair can sometimes take longer or shorter time but it should never take more than hour. So the first thing that you want to do is protect your hair. Any time you use a hot tool you want to make sure you're using some sort of heat protecting spray. So I'm just going to go ahead and spray that through all of her hair from far away so we get a nice mist. And then concentrate on the ends and then I'm just going to comb through it and make sure that it's all the way through her hair. So the next step that's going to make curling your hair much easier is sectioning it off into four different sections. So I like to do the top left the bottom left, the top right and the bottom right. So I'm sectioning it off right above the ear and just twist that up, get it out of the way. That way when we start, we're just curling one piece at a time. OK so split your hair in the back into two sections. This way you can look in to the mirror while you're curling and you can get curl forward. So if your hair has a hard time holding the curl, you may want to spray each section right before you curl it with hair spray but if you have finer hair or hair that holds a curl a little better you can just skip that and spray it all at the end. So the fastest way to curl your hair with a curling iron is to just wrap it around the barrel. This is going to give you a looser wave so if you really want those tight ringlets you can go ahead and put it into the clasp of the curling iron but this way you can just wrap it around, hold it for a few seconds and let it go. And now with each section you're only going to have two or three curls and that's going to make it much more manageable. So go ahead and wrap around the curling iron, hold it for a few seconds, make sure that when you're doing this method that you're very careful not to burn your fingers at the end. Let it go. Then you're going to do the rest of the sections just this way one at a time. So we're going to do this section, then we're going to come back curl this section and then curl this and then you'll be all done. So I'm just going to finish this off with the last curl. I'm wrapping it around, holding my hand away from the edge and I've been holding these curls for about five seconds but if you have really thick coarse hair you may need to hold it for longer. If you have really thin hair, then you're going to hold it for less time because it's more fragile and you don't want it to burn. So there we go. Once you've finished all the curls you can give it a nice finishing spray of hair spray to get it to stay and that's it. That actually only took me about ten minutes to curl her whole head of hair. So I'm Michelle Simone and I just showed you how to curl your hair in less than an hour.
