Hey there, my name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister, and today I'm going to demonstrate the proper technique for bending down to pick something up from a lower shelf. Alright. Now, a lot of times, we got to bend down in our homes and in our offices and around everywhere we go, we got to bend down. And a lot of times we're over-extending our low back because we're not bending properly, we're not squatting properly. I'm going to demonstrate what the wrong way to do it and this is typically how it looks. Most people have to get something off, we bend our back and then we pull it up. That's not good. What we want to do is, we want to keep our backs flat during the squat. So, we just want to bend down and then pick it up. Alright. So, I'll demonstrate one more time. This is the wrong way to bend down and pick it up. You'll feel it in your back and you'll feel that tense and tightness in the back immediately. The right way, squat, keeping the back flat using you hips and heels and then coming up properly. My name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister, and that is how you properly squat to pick something up from a lower shelf.
