I'm Kaysha Kalkofen, co-founder and director of client services at Sunela, your source for digital marketing. Today, we're going to learn how to add a Facebook Like button to your Tumblr posts. First, log into your Tumblr account. Once in your Tumblr account, click the gear button at the top of the page to access your dashboard. Inside your dashboard, select the blog where you want to add the Like button. Scroll to the middle of the page and you'll find a customized button in the theme section. From here, you'll want to select this edit HTML button. It extends this window open with the HTML code driving the theme of your page. You will then want to open another window and go to the Facebook developers page. This can be found on Facebook in doing a search within their search menu. Scroll down the page and you'll find this area, Step 1, for getting the Like button code. I recommend leaving all the defaults in place. This will actually create the button so that it Like's the post that the button is posted on. If you want to actually have the button Likes another page, or your homepage, you can enter the URL here for that. Select get code, and the code that automatically generates, this HTML 5 code, is the code that you need. Select all the code in this first box and copy to your clipboard. Go back to your Tumblr page and you're going to add this code immediately before the closing head tag. This tag occurs approximately near line 1058, so you will have a little bit of scrolling to do in the code. This is the tag that you are looking for, the close head tag. Immediately before that tag, paste the code that you just copied from Facebook. Now go back to Facebook and copy the code from the second box. Return to your Tumblr page and now you're going to be looking for your close post tag. This occurs usually around line 1444. So, again, a little bit more scrolling, and this is the code that you are looking for, the {/block:Posts}, immediately before that tag, paste the code that you just took from Facebook. Then hit update preview and your Like button will appear in your theme. Then click save, and that's all there is to it to adding a Facebook like button to your Tumblr page. Again, I'm Kaysha Kalkofen, with Sunela, your source for digital marketing.
