Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to do sloughing for exfoliating your face. So sloughing is pretty much a term to say that you are eliminating and uprooting the dead skin from your already existing skin. So sometimes we have dryness going on and we just need to smooth out the skin and get off the dead skin cells. So what we're going to do is just take our exfoliator that we have going on and we have a moisturized face with some water on it and we're just going to go in, I'm using a sponge if you are in a restroom then you can use your fingers and we are just going over the skin and the term sloughing is really just moving in circular motions to the desired area in which you want to uproot any skin. So if we have some flakiness going on this will help smoothen that out. It's a great alternative if you can't afford a fancy electronic brush to remove the dead skin cells and it doesn't take long at all. Once you've done that, it's always nice to rinse. You can let it sit for a couple minutes, rinse and then you can do it maybe one more time but the key is to not do it more than twice a week because over-exfoliating can cause flakiness as well. So everything is good in moderation. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to slough for exfoliating the skin.
