Hi, this is Lisa with, here at Anytime Fitness, South Longview, Texas. Let's talk a little bit about how high knee exercises affect your the legs. So, when I say high knee exercises, I'm talking about anything from a march to running high knees, to skipping, a tuck jump, okay, anything where the knees are coming up higher than just right here off of the floor. So, the muscles being utilize the most are going to be the large ones, the, the quadriceps, the hamstrings, the gluts. Of course if you're jumping, you also have the calves involved as well. Stabilizing muscles would be the core. What you're doing when you're doing any kind of high knee exercise is you're training the muscles for endurance, strength and flexibility. So, for instance, if I am doing high knee tap jumps like that, I'm training my muscles for explosive strength, which is going to help me to jump higher and run faster. Make sure if you are doing any high knee exercise that has you leaving the ground especially both feet at the same time, that you do a very thorough warm up, five to ten minutes is great. And that's how high knee exercises affect the legs.
