Hi, I'm Teca Thompson, trained chef and organic gardener. Today we're learning how to harvest broccoli plants. So I have my broccoli plant which is fully matured and as you can see it's got a nice round head on it and I'm just going to take my gardening shears while holding the head and clip it off like so. And here you have a head of broccoli. So after you've cut the head of broccoli off you have two options. You can either pull up the plant making more room in your garden or you can leave the plant and the plant will continue to produce little heads like the size of broccolini will start to grow and you can harvest those for a few months on end and get continual little baby broccolis out of that. Also you can harvest the leaves and they are good for steaming or preparing like collared greens. So that way how to harvest broccoli, and I'm Teca Thompson. Thanks for watching.
