Hi, my name is Leslie Shores, and I'm a color specialist here at Maxine Salon in Chicago and here's my quick tip on how to keep your hair healthy when getting hair color. So I think that healthier hair is the most important thing when it comes to the color and I always say the color is not going to look good unless your hair is healthy so I recommend staying within two shades of your natural color and that will actually go the best with your skin and eyes as well. If you have a low percentage of gray, you can ask your colorist to use a demi-permanent color instead of permanent which is a lot more gentle on your hair and it will help keep it shiny and healthy and then you can always look for a salon that carries a low ammonia or no ammonia lightener which will also help with the health of your hair. I'm Leslie Shores at Maxine Salon and that's my quick tip on how to keep your hair healthy when getting hair color.
