Hi, my name is Leslie Shores. I'm a hair colorist here at Maxine in Chicago, and today I'm going to talk about what to do to avoid red tones with your hair color. One of the first things you need to take into consideration is your own natural color and the lighter you go, the more warmth you're going to get. You can also ask your hair colorist to add green or blue into the color and that will help control some of the warmth. Something you can do at home is use a blue pigmented shampoo and use that like once a week and that will help control brassiness.
