Hi, I'm Cari Shoemate, and as a trainer one of my favorite exercises for my clients to do is actually push-ups. Push-ups are great because they work your entire upper body. Everything from your shoulders, your chest, your back, and even a little bit of your biceps and triceps. Now you can vary your push ups and work certain muscle groups a little bit more then others. Just depending on where your hands are placed and where your feet are placed. For instance if you want to work a little bit more of the upper chest area and a little bit more of the upper shoulder area, you need to do a decline push-up. Where your feet are elevated just a little bit above your hands. And it looks like this. So you find a step or a bench. If you are more of a beginner you want to make sure your step is a little bit lower. If you are a little bit more advance you can take it up a little bit higher. But basically you put your feet on the bench. And you are going to walk your hands out in push-up position. Your hands are wider then your shoulders. You are going to lower down and then press yourself back up to the top. And make sure you are keeping a nice flat back. So one of the biggest tips that I have for you when it comes to push-ups is with your breathing. So you want to inhale as you lower your body down and exhale as you push yourself up. And that's really going to help you and you will be able to do more push-ups. I'm Cari Shoemate and I'll see you next time.
