Hi. I'm Maria Liberate from the award winning book series The Basic Art of Italian Cooking, and today I'm going to make string beans Italian style with diced tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. What you need is 16 ounces of dices tomatoes. You can use a can or preferably fresh if you can, a pound of string beans, about three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and three garlic cloves. We're going to start by adding into my saute pan about three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. I'm going to put in my three garlic cloves, whole. You can mince the garlic cloves if you would like a stronger flavor of garlic. I'm leaving them whole. Once the garlic cloves begin to turn golden, we're going to add in our diced tomatoes. We need to saute this for approximately twenty minutes or until most of the juice is absorbed. I've precooked a pound of fresh string beans. You can use fresh or frozen. We're going to add those into the tomatoes, get those mixed into the tomato sauce. Now I'm going to saute this for approximately another fifteen minutes. And once you've sauteed this and the string beans are tender, you're dish is ready to be plated and served. I'm Maria Liberati from The Basic Art of Italian Cooking. Thanks for watching.
