Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, Professional Makeup Artist, and today I'm going to show you how to put on self-tanner. We have our self-tanner right here and it's essentially a bronzing mousse. So, the best way to put this on and the reason why I chose this mousse is because self tanner can look really that great when done right. But, it can look really bad if done wrong. And sometimes the self tanners last a very long time and you have to pay for those consequences if it messes up. So, this mousse right here only lasts until you wash your face. It does a little more upkeep because you're not tanned permanently, but it's great because you can manipulate it and wash it off if you don't like it or if you need it to come off. So, we're just going to go in with our mousse and I'm going to put it on a sponge so it absorbs the majority of the product. And then I'm going to go on lightly onto her forehead. Self tanner and bronzing mousses are known to go on pretty heavy, so I normally don't suggest to use a sponge on most things as a mandatory thing. But, for this I do because you want minimal distribution, just even distribution. So, just take it in tiny squirts and pumps, this is something you need to take time with especially if it's on your face because we want to make sure we get the most even coverage as possible. And picking out your shade is something that I would try on my arm. They don't come in a bunch of different ranges of shades unfortunately, so it's something that you just need to take into consideration and make sure that you balance out the rest of your body where skin is going to be showing because you might, since you are changing the color of your skin by adding some tan to it, you need to make sure that you don't have any harsh lines and you blend them down. And this can be worn underneath foundation as well. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to apply fake tanner.
