Hi, there. I am Joseph Yacino, YaDa chef in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and this great space you see me cooking in is kitchen Nine-Five-Three. Kitchen Nine-Five-Three is the county's number one professionaly shared culinary space. So, scones, or scones as some people like to call them, seems to be shrouded in all this mystery. I'd like to take some of that mystery away and to show you just how easy they are to make, and the recipe I'm gonna show for you today is how to make scones using butter, and creaming it with sugar. So, you put your butter into your bowl, add some sugar, and creaming just means you're mixing it together. You're mixing it, you're mixing it, you're mixing it, it's making it all homogenous in one thing at the same time. This is going to take you maybe two to three minutes. You have to use a little bit of elbow grease. Now, to this, you're going to add your dry ingredients. Just put your baking powder into your flour, give it a little bit of whisk up, just to do it, mix it all together, put it in. And now with this, you are going to use your pastry cutter, two knives, your hands, you just want it to come all back together, and you want to make little pea size, or at the biggest, or to a fine sand quality. Now to this, we add one egg, large, always when you're baking, egg is beaten with some milk, just give it a quick stir. You want it just to come together. You don't need to have anything special going on, pour it right in, and mix it up. Okay, so here ya go. I took the scones out of the oven, they were in there for about 10 to 12 minutes. And, these are scones, made by creaming butter and sugar together. I've plated them up here for you with some fresh blueberries and some Devin Double cream. Yum! How simple was that? I am Joseph Yacino, thank you for watching!
