Hi, this is Tarik Tyler with here at Train, West Hollywood, and this is box jumping exercises for jumpers. So what we're going to be doing here, we're going to be doing box jumps but what we're going to use here, we're going to use a step. Now with box jumps, the most important thing to understand is the position you are in right before you take off. I always have my feet spread shoulder-width apart or in some cases, a little bit wider, make sure I get a nice good squat, either I go a 90 degree angle or just slightly before and drive up. As you come up, the important thing is is to drive your hands up. You're trying to jump and push your hips up at the same time. So when I squat down I want to make sure I jump up and land softly. The most important thing also here that soft landing, making sure when you come down, boom you are coming down here, a nice soft landing and just simply stepping back down from the box. Another variation is what you are going to do is you're going to jump over and do a second jump. So what you are doing is you are taking in the energy from the first jump and using it to deploy you up for the next jump. And this is Tarik Tyler, and this was box jumping exercises for jumpers.
