Hi, I'm chef Mariko. Today, I'm going to show you how to bake a big Idaho potato. I absolutely love cooking big Idaho potatoes because they're humongous and the perfect size for filling with all my favorite toppings. To get started you'll want to heat your oven to 450 degrees. Then get your giant potato and then you just want to cut a few slits in it. By cutting the slits in it it helps the steam escape so that your potato doesn't explode while in the oven. So I've got three slits in there just like that. And now I'm going to put it in the oven for about an hour. My big Idaho potato just came out of the oven. And I'm really excited to put some of my favorite toppings on it. So the way I like to do my potatoes is I cut them down the center. Oh look how hot and steamy it is. And then the way I like to garnish it is with a little sharp cheddar cheese. A dollop of sour cream. And some fresh sliced green onions. And a little garnish of fresh ground pepper. And that's it. This is chef Mariko showing you how to bake a big Idaho potato. Enjoy.
