Hi, I’m Joelle, “The Baby Planner,” for NestHelp.com, and today we’re here at Lazar’s Juvenile Furniture. And, this is how we transition from a crib to a toddler bed. First, knowing when it’s time. Toddlers that are starting to try to climb out need to be transitioned to a toddler bed. Falling out of a crib is a big safety hazard. Second, knowing how to speak “toddler.” Toddlers love praise. They love to be shown that this is okay, and this is a positive transition. So, tell your toddler this is a big deal, and make it fun. Third, if your crib makes into a toddler bed, then fine. If not, this one has side rails, so that ensures the child does not fall out. This can really impede their progress – falling out of bed is a really scary experience. And fourth, if your child is having trouble transitioning, try to make it more fun. Have them go to the store and pick out “big boy” or “big girl” sheets for their new bed. Thanks for watching.
