Hi, I’m Joelle, “The Baby Planner,” with NestHelp.com. And today, we’re here at Lazar’s Juvenile Furniture in Chicago, Illinois. And, this is how to choose a cradle. First, you want to determine your needs. Do you need a bassinet, which easily attaches to a stroller and makes for a wonderful transition from nap to home? Or, two, do you just want a cradle right here in the room, stationary? Or, three, a travel crib – it’s a wonderful way to ensure baby’s safe and cared for and cradled, but it’s also portable and great for trips to Grandma’s house. The fourth, of course, is the crib which cradles your baby, and it is - what you want to look for – is a safe crib, a sturdy crib. You want to do a shake test on it, and make sure it’s very safe. You want to see that the mattress fits snugly against the slat. And, you also want to check the finish. You want it no-VOC or low-VOC finish -that’s “Volatile Organic Compounds.” They are toxic, and you don’t want anything toxic next to your baby. These are all the different types of cradles. I’m Joelle, “The Baby Planner,” thanking you for watching. And, this is how to choose a cradle.
