Hi, I'm Joelle, The Baby Planner for NestHelp.com, and today we're here at Lazar's Juvenile Furniture in Chicago, Illinois. And this is how to keep your baby in an upright position. First, there are three main reasons why you want to keep your infant in an upright position. Number one, it's common in the first three months for infants to have reflux. I recommend using a bouncy chair for this. After a feeding, this will not only rock them and help them to prevent reflux. But it's a great way also, for number two, the number two reason, gas. Gas is very common after feeding a newborn. This will help bounce them and rock them, help release that gas. The third reason that we don't want to lay a baby down too long, is because of flat head syndrome. I also recommend carrying your baby hands-free in a sturdy carrier, that allows the baby to have proper support and allow you to see their face at all times. I'm Joelle, The Baby Planner for NestHelp.com, thank you for watching how to keep your newborn in an upright position.
