Hi, my name is Eric N. Quinn, I am a personal trainer and life coach, and today we are here in Jersey City, New Jersey in World Gym. And we are going to show you how to work the top of your shoulders. We are going to do some of my favorite exercises for the shoulder. The first exercise we are going to do is actually the Schwarzenegger, the Arnold Schwarzenegger shoulder press. To do that you bring your dumbbells in front of you. Just keep your elbows down and relaxed. Standing up position is the best way to perform this exercises. And it's the best way I like to perform this exercises because it engages every part of your body also. So you are going to keep the dumbbells in front of you like this. And you are going to press up. Pressing up and down. It's not necessary to bring it all the way up. But you want to press up to here and bring it back down. Important also to keep breathing as you perform this exercise. Engage your abs, engage your legs as you do it and press up and down. Press up, down. Up, down. I only have about three or four and I'm already feeling the burn. So you press up and down. Press up and down. The next exercise is simple. A simple exercise but very effective exercise. To do this we are going to bring the dumbbells straight up forward. And we are going to hold it there in isometric contraction. You see you hold it there, it doesn't move. You are engaging the shoulders not just the shoulders but your back, your core, your legs. Everything is engaged in this exercise. You hold it there and as you hold there you can count to five and bring it up slow. And down to the first position. You go up, down, up, down. And you hold it there again you count five, four, three, two, one. And you relax. That was a killer. This has been Eric N. Quinn and that is how you work the top of your shoulders.
